This genuine replacement part is a door lock motor switch assembly for ovens. The door lock motor switch assembly is the part that locks the oven door. The reason it would need to be replaced is if the motor or switch has failed and is no longer able to keep the oven door locked and secured when closed. This can happen due to excessive wear and tear over time. To replace this part, start by unplugging the oven. After that, pull the oven away from the wall and proceed to remove the upper back access panel of the range. Once removed, lift the panel off and locate the lock motor and switch assembly. Disconnect the wires from the motor and switch. Once removed, unthread the two mounting screws that hold the assembly in place. Remove the connection rod. Proceed to install the new switch and motor assembly by reattaching the connection rod and refastening the mounting screws. Reattach the wires to the motor and switch and proceed to reinstall the back panel of the oven. This genuine OEM part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand ovens.

Brett for Model Number KEMC308KSS03

I am ready to order a replacement door latch, part no. AP6014072, for our KEMC308KSS03 MICROWAVE/OVEN combination unit. It was buzzing and would no longer lock to or go into a cleaning cycle. The latch looks easy enough to replace but after removing several trim pieces and the oven door, I do not see how I can either slide the microwave all the way out because of its wiring harness or access the two mounting screws and electrical connector. Please advise. Thanks BWG

Hello Brett, first, this is considered a 2 person repair. The power has to be turned off to the oven and it has to be uninstalled from the cabinet. The top and upper side panels need to be unscrewed, then the control panel, work your way around the microwave section removing the mounting screws until you can either tip the microwave up in the front and hold it in place with a rod, (carefully) or remove it entirely, with the front trim covering the latch area removed you have to get under the duct panel to lift up the latch cover to access the latch assembly mounting screws and disconnect the wiring and slide the latch assembly out. Unfortunately, there is no easy way or short cut to this repair.

Hal, the oven temperature sensor WPW10131825 may not register the proper temperature once it gets to higher temperatures. The temperature resistance can be tested at room temperature and should read around 1080 ohms at 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Jimmy for Model Number KGSS907SSS00

We hadn't used the oven for a week. The power had gone out during the time we didn't use it. I wonder if that caused the following: -The oven light is on and won't turn off. However, if I wiggle the latch just right, it would turn off, but when I let go, it would turn back on. -The latch won't come to a good resting position. When I try to open the door, it catches a few times, then releases. -The oven won't get hot. All of the electronics and sounds seem normal, but the gas doesn't seem to ignite. -Everything else does work, including the burners on top. I might try to change the latch mechanism, but that probably won't fix the issue of not heating up. What should I do? The unit is about 10 years old.

Jimmy, This does sound like the door latch would need to be replaced on the unit for the oven light issue but for the issue of the no heat you will want to check to see if the igniter is coming on and if it is not then this will most likely be a control board issue.

Nick, You will want to double check your error code and make sure that it is not a E5 F2 instead of F5 E2 because the latter does not show as being a good error. The F5 would represent a door lock issue and would most likely need to replace the door lock if this is the case. The F2 E5 would be a cancel drive key error which would indicate a issue with the membrane switch. You will want to double check the connection on the ribbon harness from the keypad to the control board and if it checks ok then the membrane switch would need replaced if there is the F2 E5 error.

William, You will want to make sure that the door is closing all the way. If the door is closing all the way then the issue will most likely be with the lock and motor switch assembly WP9760889 especially if it will correct the issue if you manually move the latch.
