The Door Switch Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This assembly detects whether the washer door is open or closed, allowing the machine to start or stop the washing cycle accordingly.

Causes of a bad door switch assembly can include wear and tear from frequent use, damage from forceful closing of the door, or electrical issues. A malfunctioning switch can prevent the washer from recognizing a closed door, thus hindering the start of the wash cycle or causing it to stop unexpectedly.

Symptoms of a bad Door Switch Assembly include:

  • Washer not starting or stopping mid-cycle
  • Error codes indicating door issues
  • Washer not spinning or agitating
  • Door lock mechanism not engaging or disengaging properly

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Georgia, The F11 error code is a motor control failure: The Motor Control Unit has internal failure. If failure occurs during high-speed spin the door unlocks after 3 minutes. This error code is only shown in Diagnostic test. Possible Causes/Procedure - Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts and spacers are removed, and power cord out of the unit. - Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit can create line noise and cause this issue. - Un plug washer or disconnect power - Check the neutral feed to the MCU and CCU from the AC line filter. - Check allwire harness connections between the Motor & MCU, and MCU to CCU, are not broken orwires detached and connector internal pins are visible. - Make sure that all the connectors are fully seated. - Plug inwasher or reconnect power cord. - Verify the unit operation by running the Diagnostic Test cycle. See page 5. - After the diagnostic test has finished, unplugwasher or disconnect power cord andwait for 15 seconds.
