Denny for Model Number GHW9150PW0 I have a Whirlpool Duet. I had to repair wiring many years ago, due to previous whirlpool repair man fixing something while machine under warranty & not being careful when putting back together & wire got pinched & cut over time. Worked for many years without problem. Started getting f dl code or dr code & after it would click several times after I tried to start the wash. I took out lock & checked to see if anything broke & was told to lub it with some silicone spray & worked Ok after that. Then from time to time it would click instead of locking & someone had mentioned that slightly tapping the control unit in the back of machine may help. I did this & most of the time the door will lock & I will have no problems for a while until it does it again. How do I know which thing is bad, wiring I had to resplice due to repair man, door latch or hopefully not the costly control unit? Thank you for any detailed instruction.
Answer Hello Denny. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the door switch assembly WP8182634 is the issue and not the control board in the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, June 1, 2012
