Peter for Model Number MAV4500AWW I watched the video to replace the washer lid switch. It seems the plunger is worn and not making enough contact to activate the switch. If I push in with a pen, the switch works. In the video, he says I don't need the plunger. Is there any other fix instead of buying the whole switch repair kit?
Answer Peter, The first check to make is the lid, make sure it hasn't bowed in/down in the center, check the center of the back of the lid, in the actuator area, there may be discoloration(rust) or in some cases you can actually see the crack in the metal.
