Frank for Model Number ACO1560A Is this a DIY job or trained mechanic/electrician? How much for new replacement? Microwave
Answer Hi Frank. The magnetron is simply a UN hook all elect. connectors and unbolt it part # WP53001044. You just need to use a Torx T-20 security bit and remove the back. Then behind the control panel is the magnetron. It is to the rt. of the cavity. The recommended diode is part # WPR9800486. Make sure you mark all wires for proper replacement. The diode and the mag. has elect. connectors that have center locking tabs that need to be released w/ a pick tool in order to remove the connector. It is important to make sure you do not get anywhere near thew capacitor terminals as it stores very high voltage and can be deadly. Use a pair of needle nose pliers that has insulated handles and are in good repair w/ no cracks in the handle. It is really more time consuming then difficult. If you need to use a cell phone for pictures as you disassemble it, it will be for your advantage. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, January 26, 2012
