Blake July 28, 2016 for Model Number MMV5156AAS our microwave is listed as 1000W, but all replacement parts I can find with specs are 700-800W. What is the watt rating of this part, and is it any different than a 10QBP0228, which is listed as a replacement part for my model?
1 Answer Hello Blake. For the model number you provided, WP53001044 is the correct magnetron. They do not list the wattage but it should be the correct one for the unit and will work fine. Read More...
Mike B December 01, 2013 for Model Number mmv1153aa How much voltage should be at the magnatron plug..??
1 Answer Mike, This would depend on the wattage of the unit. The magnetron is high voltage so you would want to do a resistance check on the magnetron to determine whether it is good or bad. The resistance should be less than 1 ohms of resistance. Read More...
Joe October 22, 2012 for Model Number mmv1153aab Hi, my microwave is growling and not working. I think it is the magnetron. How hard is it to replace? Will I need special tools? The microwave is 7 years old.
1 Answer Hello Joe, To replace magnetron you may need to have a #20 Safety torx bit. There are normally two of these screws on the upper corners of the back of the microwave. The rest of the screws would be phillips head screwdriver. You would remove cabinet, once cabinet is removed there are 4 screws holding magnetron WP53001044 in place. Read More...
Frank January 25, 2012 for Model Number ACO1560A Is this a DIY job or trained mechanic/electrician? How much for new replacement? Microwave
1 Answer Hi Frank. The magnetron is simply a UN hook all elect. connectors and unbolt it part # WP53001044. You just need to use a Torx T-20 security bit and remove the back. Then behind the control panel is the magnetron. It is to the rt. of the cavity. The recommended diode is part # WPR9800486. Make sure you mark all wires for proper replacement. The diode and the mag. has elect. connectors that have center locking tabs that need to be released w/ a pick tool in order to remove the connector. It is important to make sure you do not get anywhere near thew capacitor terminals as it stores very high voltage and can be deadly. Use a pair of needle nose pliers that has insulated handles and are in good repair w/ no cracks in the handle. It is really more time consuming then difficult. If you need to use a cell phone for pictures as you disassemble it, it will be for your advantage. Thank You. Read More...
