Ja for Model Number Whirlpool oven MODEL-RBS275PDB10 I have Whirlpool built-in oven mod rbs275pdb10. I turned the oven to bake @ 350 degrees. When I returned to the oven, it had switched to CLEAN mode. I hit cancel and after a while the oven door would open. Next time it tried to used the oven, there was no heat in the oven (neither bake or broil). I feel sure the thermal overload safety is blown, but am concerned about the unauthorized switch from bake to clean. Do I need a new electronic (microcomputer) component? You show that this part is no longer available. What options do I have?
Answer Hello Ja. It is very possible the board could be bad. However, if there is power from the board, but the thermal is open, then the board should be ok if it is sending power. Also, test the temp probe in the unit as well. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
