Fran Sutherland December 28, 2018 for Model Number RBS245PDB12 I have a Whirlpool, "built-in" , 24 " electric oven, Model: RBS245PDB12. The upper broiler element never shuts off. If I set the oven to a 350 degrees on "Bake", the element continues to heat and never shuts off. If I press the "off" button, the oven continues to heat, will not shut off and I must flip the fuse off. The door latches and locks when this happens and will not open for about 1 hour until the oven cools. I changed the sensor but this did not resolve the problem. Please help. What do I need to purchase? Thank you. Fran Sutherland
1 Answer Fran, The "Broil" relay on the [AP3177932 8186024 Microcomputer (control board) has stuck closed and is supplying constant voltage to the Broil element. You will need to replace the control board. Unfortunately, the part is presently out of stock, and will need to be ordered from the manufacturer. This will add a few days to the delivery time, once you place the order. Thanks, Read More...
Dale December 05, 2018 for Model Number xm2103747 getting the e1 f5 code once in awhile but now with the oven off the boiler will come on and stay on and can not be shut off I have to shut it off by turning off the breaker
1 Answer Dale, For a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please verify the model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number. Read More...
Justin March 14, 2018 for Model Number RS696PXGQ8 I have this oven in a rental home. Top elements of stove work fine. Tennant says the oven temperature is not regulated and that all food is burned. Oven also shuts down when top and oven are used simultaneously. I was able to set the oven for preheat with the top elements on and the oven did shut off. No error codes however. Is this a thermostat or resistor problem or is it the controler board?
1 Answer Justin, You would want to check the resistance of the oven sensor for a resistance of 1090 ohms at room temp. If the resistance checks ok then the control board would be the issue with this unit. Read More...
Jay September 03, 2017 for Model Number rbs245pdq12 My oven will lock up on it's own, if I try to heat it up, even at 350, it will try and start to get warm, but will stop. When I press and hold the cancel button I get a E0 F3 error. Does this sound like a control board issue?
1 Answer Jay, The F3 E0 is an open temperature sensor. You will want to check the wiring between the temp sensor and the control board to make sure that it is not damaged. If this checks ok then do a resistance check on the oven sensor. The resistance should read 1080 ohms at 70 degrees and if you test it during a cycle you would add 2 ohms for every 1 degree of temperature rise. If the resistance is not correct then replace the oven sensor. If the resistance is good then this would be a faulty control board. Read More...
Bob July 13, 2017 for Model Number RBS275PDB12 I have a whirlpool wall oven that is giving me both E1 F5 error and just F5 error, it will come on and heat up. Sometimes it will work fine other times it shuts off and I get either the E1 F5 or just the F5 errror. I can restart it and finish what ever it is I'm cooking. Is this the control board or the latch assembly?
1 Answer Hello Bob. That is a door latch error. 1. Check the latch assembly: latch arm pivot joint, arm/solenoid connection, solenoid spring, and spring washer. 2. Check the Latch Solenoid: - Check for firm electrical connections. - Disconnect the two wires from the solenoid and measure the resistance of the solenoid. A small resistance (approx. 175?) is normal. If the solenoid is open (8?) or shorted (0?), it should be replaced. 3. Check the Latch Switch. Disconnect it and use a continuity tester: - Door latched = switch closed, continuity should read 0?. - Door unlatched = switch open, continuity should read 8?. 4. Check Door Open/Closed Switch. Disconnect it and use a continuity tester: - Door open = switch closed, continuity should read 0?. - Door closed = switch open, continuity should read 8?. 5. Check power and element connections. Melinda September 06, 2016 for Model Number Whirlpool Oven Model #RBS245PDQ12 My oven will not bake. The broil element works fine but the bake element will not heat at all. I have replaced the baking heat element. The issue started after the power company did some work replacing poles in our area. They turned the power on and off for several days in a row. The oven is approximately 13 years old.
1 Answer Hello Melinda. It sounds like the control board 8186024 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Jim August 25, 2016 for Model Number GBS277PDB6 When oven is set to bake it goes through the pre heat cycle, but the bake element doesn't heat. The broil heats, and when I set to self clean both the bake and broil heat. I'm thinking the bake relay is bad, but does the self clean have its own relay?
1 Answer Hello Jim, This will be a wiring issue, or the bake relay on the control board 8186024. Read More...
Dave May 14, 2015 for Model Number RBD305PDS12 My Whirlpool double oven gave me the error code E6-F2. I had a repairman out who confirmed the micro computer needed to be replaced. Unfortunately Whirpool does not make that part anymore. The repairman said one of his other customers found someone to repair the part itself. Where can I find someone to do that? I would rather not have to replace the oven.
1 Answer Dave, the documentation that we have is as follows: Customer Needs To Contact Whirlpool To Discuss A Potential Solution Due To Unavailability, 1-800-253-1301. Hope this helps. Read More...
