Fran Sutherland for Model Number RBS245PDB12

I have a Whirlpool, "built-in" , 24 " electric oven, Model: RBS245PDB12. The upper broiler element never shuts off. If I set the oven to a 350 degrees on "Bake", the element continues to heat and never shuts off. If I press the "off" button, the oven continues to heat, will not shut off and I must flip the fuse off. The door latches and locks when this happens and will not open for about 1 hour until the oven cools. I changed the sensor but this did not resolve the problem. Please help. What do I need to purchase? Thank you. Fran Sutherland

Answer

Fran, The "Broil" relay on the [AP3177932 8186024 Microcomputer (control board) has stuck closed and is supplying constant voltage to the Broil element. You will need to replace the control board. Unfortunately, the part is presently out of stock, and will need to be ordered from the manufacturer. This will add a few days to the delivery time, once you place the order. Thanks,
