Me Fusco for Model Number kgst307hbl4 My KitchenAid gas oven broiler will not work. We replaced the ignitor, and that did not work. I smell gas, so I think there is gas coming through the line, but no flame, and the broiler does not fire up. Could it be the spark module?
Answer Hi Me. The igniter ohms out between 50-800 ohms cold. If you see a visible crack in the center of it, it will light but not pull enough current to open the safety valve. Put a amp probe around one of the igniter wires. It should draw between 3.2-3.6 amps within 30-45 seconds to open the gas valve. Since you smell gas, it tells me that the igniter is not getting hot enough. Make sure the orifice is not plugged and you are getting a partial gas flow. The igniter is part # WP9782065. Is the broiler diffuser not directing the gas flow. Part # 8187945. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 23, 2011
