Rob for Model Number Whirlpool 4389142 My freezer keeps icing up and the fridge is not cooling enough. I recenlty replaced the defrost timer (which helped). I have tested the bimetal defrost thermostat and it works as should. I have noticed that the evaporator fan does not come on at all. I have left the fridge running for a couple days and have yet to see it run. Could this be a defective fan or is it a control issue? Thanks, Rob
Answer Hello Rob. Test for power to the fan motor. If it is there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the fan motor on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
