Jojo July 08, 2024 for Model Number ET22DMXFW00 My freezer has a light in it, I can't remember if it's foil wrapped wire went on top of the fan motor frame or on the fins below the fan frame?
1 Answer Hello JOJO, thank you for contacting APP, The wire routing should not matter as long as the harness is not impacted by the fan motor or fan blade itself and has enough length to reach the light without being stretched. Read More...

Bc March 19, 2020 Is there any evaporator motor I can use in place of the discontinued WHIRLPOOL WP4389142? Thank you.
1 Answer BC, the manufacturer has discontinued the part. The manufacturer no longer sells the part. We can no longer get it from any of our suppliers. There is no substitute for the part available to us and we don't know of any other source for the part. You may want to contact local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturer's part number. Try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model or usable part for your machine. Thanks, Read More...

Kathy November 05, 2016 for Model Number Kitchen aid ktrp20mdal01 Replaced evaporator fan motor yesterday because it was making loud noise. Refrigerator seems to be working fine but evaporator fan runs continuously and it did not before. Now I'm second guessing myself thinking I might have reversed connecting the red and white wires on the motor. Could that be the problem? Also there seems to be some frost collecting on some items in the freezer but there are only 5 items in there since I didn't want to load it back up if it wasn't fully working. Is it too empty?
1 Answer Kathy, On this motor it does not matter which way the wires are connected as this is a ac motor and will work either way. As for the fan running all the time, if the unit is cooling properly and the temps being approximately 38 in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer then the unit is working properly. John B November 27, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool ET19RKXGT02 Our 14 year old Whirlpool Top Mount Model ET19RKXGT02 has a problem. The freezer freezes properly - well below 0, but the refrigerator temp hovers at 50 degrees. Air circulation from freezer to frig is poor. Ice cubes taste of chemicals. Water collects under freezer floor and freezes. Water drips from freezer into refrigerator, also collects beneath crispers. Suspecting the fan, I took apart the freezer area last week. The fan had fallen into it's frame and wouldn't turn so I fixed the fan, and also defrosted the freezer. Now a week later the same thing is happening. I adjusted freezer to 1 warmest setting, refrigerator to 4. Refrigerator is now running continuosly. Am wondering if having the fan not working has caused some electrical malfunction such as in the Defrost Bimetal or the Defrost Timer? Your advice is appreciated! Thank you
1 Answer Hello John. You need to thaw out the air duct and clean out the drain on the unit. The new fan motor can not circulate air when the duct is clogged with ice. Read More...

Donna June 01, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool I just replaced the Evaporator fan motor yesterday afternoon because of noise from my old one. It worked great (no noise) when I replaced it for about 10 hours then in the middle of the night, the noise started back up. I don't understand. It has new motor, new blade & new brackets. I feel like my time & effort was wasted to order the new part so I may as well return the part because it didn't fix the problem. What else can I do ?
1 Answer Donna, Check to make sure that there is not ice building up around the fan motor. If there is then you will want to look at a possible air leak issue or look at the fan motor coming on before the unit is out of defrost. If this is the case then the defrost control would need to be replaced. Read More...
Ed November 24, 2013 for Model Number ET18GKXDW05 The Evac motor was making a winning noise , I put oil on it and it was quiet for days. I ordered a new evac motor and put it in my whirlpool refrig and now after running quiet for two days it is making the sam winning noise. I was wanting to know what could cause both them to make the same winning noise. Could it be the freezer is to cold or circulation problem or a clogged air passage or drain line. Im out of ideas.
