Terry for Model Number MAH4000AWQ My Maytag washer, serial 53377601YH, started with some peiodic growling noises with the spin cycle. Yesterday, loud growling and slow motion with both wash and spin cycle. This morning, hot smell and now the motor does not run. Bearings are good. No sign of burning on the control board. Is it the motor? My motor does not look like your motor and has a plastic cap on the back.
Answer Terry, Based on your post description, you most likely have an issue in the motor control board or wire harness between the board and motor. Based on the serial number, you would need to order 12002039 motor conversion kit ( which will contain everything you need). Thanks a lot Read More...
