Bruce for Model Number Gs5shgxLQ00 My refrigerator is cool running okay, however, I noticed a frequent clicking noise at the rear right near compressor. Could this be the ptc relay? If this is the part I need, I would like to get the correct part that doesnt require cutting any wires, (if available). Thanks
Answer Hello Bruce. The click heard about every 3 to 5 minutes is going to be the overload opening from excessive current flow and then closing again. Most of the time replacing the start relay and overload corrects this problem. Be aware though, if the new relay fails soon after replacement,(within a few hours), the unit could have a bad compressor. To replace the start device without any harness modifications, I would order part number 8201786, and use the parts that resemble the ones on your unit now. This kit I provided the part number for includes 2 different start devices and the individual start relay and overload. The additional parts are extra and will not be used. Sure hope this helps!
