Dennis A for Model Number ET8MHKXMQ04 This Whirlpool Refrig is 7 years old.I am somewhat familar with the workings of a refrigerator. Every 6 months I clean the condenser and compressor area. The unit is clean now. The refrig is coolong fine. Around 38 degrees in refrig and aout 10 degrees in the freezer. The frig is not overloaded with food items. Lately when the compressor and fans activate, all will run for around 15 to 20 minutes the shut off..Around 2 minutes later the compressor and fans will acivate again for about 1 minute the shut off Again after about a minute the compressor and fans will activate for about a minute the shut off. This will happen for about 6 to 7 times. Then the unit will be off for a while( about 20 to 30 minutes. Then the compressor and fans will activate and run for about 15 to 20 minutes and the short cycles will start again. On occasion I have heard a thump/clunk from the compressor. The compressor doesn't feel that hot. I can hold my hand on it. The compressor cooling fan is working fine. Any ideas on what can be the problem? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dennis
