Hello Tim. You will hook the wires up the same way they were on your old overload. If the red wire was on L and the white wire was on N, then that is where they will go on your new overload. You can look at the wiring diagram for the refrigerator to determine where the line and neutral wires go. It does sound like the white should be Neutral and the Red would be the Line according to the colors. Hope this helps.
