Jared for Model Number MDBH949AWB1 Upon pushing start button the lights under "cycles" and "options" light up as expected, but "start light" then proceeds to blink on and off continuously and washer does not come on. Had technician replace touchpad 18 months ago. Could it have possibly have gone out again? Is touchpad the same as control panel OR am I confusing the two? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
Answer Jared, Yes the key pads can fail in a short period of time, and based on your information, that is the issue. The key pads are "inlaid" into the control panel W10810104, so you have to replace the control panel assembly. You're not confusing the two, some brands and models do have a separate key pad assembly, but not in your case. You also want to check and make sure the wiring connections in the junction box are good and tight, and a thin coat of "Vaseline" around the touchpad ribbon and connector (after the ribbon is installed and seated properly) will help to keep any moisture or debris from entering the connection, and help to prolong the life of the key pad.
