Kevin for Model Number WRS571CIDM01 I have a whole house filter reverse osmosis system. Does my unit require a filter bypass cap?
Answer Hello Kevin, You do not require a filter in the refrigerator with an RO system. If you experience an issue with the icemaker overfilling or the water dispenser not stopping properly you may need to increase water pressure to the unit. You see, the water valve has no internal spring to aid in its' closure. Water pressure alone closes the valve. It requires from 45 to 90 PSI for proper closure. The water valves for a dishwasher and washing machine are the same. A plumber can normally help with this if it becomes necessary. The model number provided does not require a filter bypass. Simply remove the filter and it will operate normally. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, September 20, 2019
