Tony for Model Number ed5kvexvb03 I’m trying to change the water filter in my Whirlpool side by side and after researching, I realized that I need the Everydrop 3 filter. These filters absolutely will not work! I have tried 3 new filters and have no water flow with the new filter installed. Water flow is good with the old filter, which is the original blue PUR filter. From reading reviews on these filters, it seems to be a common problem since they switched to Everydrop. Is there another brand filter I can use? Also, can I use the water and ice dispenser without a filter?
Answer Hello Tony, the model you have does not require a filter bypass if no filter is used. The manufacturer recommended filter replacement is the EVERY DROP type, as a suggestion the filter housing WPW10121138 may be worn and not accepting the newer filters. Read More...
