The Drain Pump is an OEM part for Whirlpool top-loading washing machines. Located near the bottom center of the machine, it actively pumps water out of the washer tub at the end of each cycle.

The pump motor spins an impeller chamber to push water through the drain hose and out of the home. Causes of failure include clogging from mineral buildup or fabric fibers within the pumping components. Over time, motor windings experience excess heat and may burn out from consistent drainage cycles.

Symptoms of a faulty drain pump are:
