Jim for Model Number mav8057aww I've noticed that in the previous questions when someone has a grinding noise near the pump you direct them to the thrust bearing. I am having a grinding noise as well at the pump pulley. This is not at the transmission pulley. I have already replaced the idler pulley at the motor and noticed that when I spun the pump pulley there was grinding along with thin metal casing exposed above the pulley which seems to make the noise. Do I need to replace the whole pump, or am I missing the purpose of the thrust bearing kit?
Answer Hello Jim. If the bearing is out on the pump, you will need to replace the pump assembly WP35-6465. The thin metal casing is the pump bearing housing. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 14, 2011
