Sharon November 18, 2021 for Model Number MAV6300AWW How and where is my water pump assembly at how do I get to it? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Sharon, You will need to raise the main top and remove the front cover. The drain pump WP35-6465 is inside the machine on the main base on the right as you face the machine. Read More...
Tom P March 06, 2021 for Model Number MAV7700AWW serial# 1900146YY Our Maytag Washer Model MAV7700AWW serial # 19200146YY runs through the colors cycles but will the water doesn't drain out. If I move the timer to the Whites cycle to between rinse and spin the water will pump out. Is this a timer issue that needs to be replaced? If the timer needs to be replaced how do you remove the timer? I've seen videos but not for the model we have. If it's another part that needs to be replaced what part and is there a video for that part. I will wait for your reply before I order parts. Thanks in advance. Tom P.
1 Answer Tom, This issue does sound like it would be a timer issue if the unit is also not spinning when the unit should drain and spin. It would be more likely that there was a clog or something of that nature because this unit has a belt driven and the timer would have nothing to do with the drain unless it is not spinning also. Tina September 23, 2019 for Model Number PAV2360AWW My MAYTAG PAV2360AWW starts leaking as soon as it starts to fill with water. I propped it up on 5" wood blocks. Noticed water dripping from a part at the very bottom where 2 black hoses are connected. One of the hoses drains into the sink. Based on your website specs could the problem be: 1) The Washer Drain Pump or 2)The Drain Pump Assembly? Is it simple enough to replace for a non-repair person to do?
1 Answer Tina, the pump that is necessary depends on the series that your unit falls in. The 16 and 19 series drain pump is part number WP35-6780 and the 10 series is part number WP35-6465. The series can be found by using the first two digits of the serial number. Read More...
Pete February 24, 2017 for Model Number MAV7200AWW The washer ordinarily works just fine, no other issues. At the end of a spin cycle there is a very loud screeching noise. Research showed that it could be a Snubber Ring, Brake Rotor & Stator or a Drain Pump issue. I would certainly appreciate your input on this. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Pete, This is caused by the brake rotor WP35-6714 and stator WP35-6918. Replacing them will correct the noise but be aware that the manufacturer recommends to lightly grease them with white lithium grease WP20000030 to prevent the sound from recurring. Sometimes the old brake can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol, the stator sanded with a crosshatch pattern, and greased to correct the noise. The noise is, unfortunately, a characteristic of the design so the grease is strongly recommended. The grease should be applied in a thin layer so no "globs" are slung from the assembly into the floor when the unit is operated. Read More...
Shelby October 19, 2016 for Model Number PAV2300AWW Just recently replaced the pump as the old pump's pulley was no longer turning. The new pump pulley is turning, but not turning smoothly. The originally pulley was on for several years before it had to be replaced, but this pulley only held 3 months. What do you think could cause the inside of the pulley to go bad? Maybe got a bad pump and need to replace again? Serial number is 14529757AP. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Shelby. You will need to check and see if anything is inside the pump. If not, and the pulley is hard to turn, you will need to replace the pump again on the unit. It has failed. Read More...
Russell August 21, 2015 for Model Number MAV7700AWW Lower portion of this machine was under water about one foot. When it was used it would not spin or agitate. But it would pump. After rotating the drum with the machine off it began to wash and spin normal but would not pump. Please help. I thought maybe the motor was not going into reverse.
1 Answer Hello Russell. Make sure the belts are good and check the motor for free movement on the float plate. If it is good, replace the motor. Read More...
Stanley D. March 12, 2015 for Model Number PAV1000 Performa by Maytag c1997 My good old Performa is making a grinding noise that varies in amplitude and duration during the wash and rinse cycles. it varies from a dull throbbing type sound to clicking loud grinding sound. The sounds even stop for short periods of time. It still goes through all the cycles but I suspect for not much longer as now it is in it's eighteenth year. Any ideas as to what it may be?
1 Answer Hello Stanley, This design is common to have an issue with the drain pump WP35-6465. If this is not the issue, there could be a brake lining WP35-6714 separated or an issue in the transmission 35-6680. Read More...
L. Burgess March 09, 2015 for Model Number PAV2300AWW The drain pump assembly quit on our Maytag washer. From reading the questions and answers on this part, I came across one where a Pro suggested upgrading the part to #35-6780 for the same washer model. Is this still suggested? Do we purchase #35-6465 or #35-6780? Thank you
1 Answer Hello L. Burgess. You can use either pump on the unit. However, out of the two pumps, WP35-6780 is the best pump for the model number provided. Read More...
