Patti, Are you sure the drain pipe is not clogged and backing up ? If you were soaking clothes for an extended period of time, the tub bearing seal, may have leaked, or perhaps the tub to pump hose has cracked or broke. You'll need to raise the top of the washer using a flat blade tool and press in on the retainer clips laocted in the seam between the top abd front panel. Then remove the front panel and check the hoses. fill the machine with water and check the seal(in the center area of the outer tub) you may want to allow the washer to set for a while(30 to 60 minutes) full of water.
