Deann I have a whirlpool under the counter ice maker that I just bought a recirculating pump #2313628. I found the wiring harness is backwards. In other words, when you turn the plastic plug in (the harness) the direction is has to go to plug into the machine, the black wire ends up being on the bottom. On the pump that was removed, the black wire is on the top. Is it safe to just cut the wire and put them in a new plug in harness or is the whole pump wired wrong or do you have another idea?
Answer Hello Deann, Since the motor is not a polarized component, it will not matter if the wires are crossed or not. Just plug it in and run it. It will not be a problem. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, October 6, 2014
