Jeff for Model Number Kitchenaid ice machine # KUI1NR5TW2 Everything seems to work fine with the ice machine. However the water reservoir doesn't fill as it should and then runs short of water prior to the plate releasing the ice. Is there a float switch in the reservoir? How long should the filling cycle last? Maybe a bad controller board? Or maybe there has developed some kind of blockage in the water line?
Answer Jeff, You will want to check for a blockage in the water line. The specific location would be where the fill tube comes into the ice machine from the top back of the unit. You will want to take the top off the unit and check to see if the fill tube is frozen where it come into the unit. This would be the most likely cause for the unit to not operate properly.
