Jose for Model Number GI15NDXZS0 The ice maker stopped working, I hear the pump and it sounds normal and running good. I touched the grid and it seems to be warm, I don't remember it being this warm before. I would think that because the grid is too warm it prevents the water to start forming a cold layer above it. Does this mean I have to replace the grid? thanks for your response.
Answer Jose, If the unit is not making ice then the grid will get warmer than normal because there is normally ice dropping onto it to cut it. If there is water running across the evaporator plate but just not freezing then you will want to check to see if the compressor is running. If it is not then the start relay would likely be the issue. If there is power and the relay is good with compressor running then it would be a sealed system type issue and will need service.
