Tommy for Model Number MGD5630TQ0 I have a Maytag dryer, I get heat for the first 5 mins but after that I can see the igniter come on but only for a second, then it turns off and doesn't lite again. I Checked sensors and they are good, could this be the heat sensor ?
Answer Tommy, Yes, It could be a weak or faulty flame sensor WP338906. It actually sounds more like a weak set of gas valve coils 279834. You may want to take a few minutes and recheck. If the igniter glows, cycles off and doesn't glow again, then the flame sensor is most likely at fault. If the igniter glows and cycles off, then continues to cycle off and on, but there is no flame from the burner, then replace the weak gas valve coils. Read More...
