Timothy B. for Model Number ? maytag gas dryer When I turn on my dryer, the ignitor glows and ignites the flame. After about 45 seconds the flame will go out . The flame looks good with yellow tip and blue flame. I took the high temperature thermostat off the burner tube and tested it. I let it hang out of the front of the dryer to stay cool. After about 30-40 seconds the glow comes back and ignites flame over and over, what's up?
Answer Hi Timothy. It sounds like your coils are weak if your dryer is a bit older also. That part # is 279834.It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, June 28, 2011
