Scott for Model Number MDG4806AWW My gas dryer is having a problem. It starts up and run for about 15 seconds and then shuts off right away. I can immediately press the button to start it again. I popped the lid on the dryer to watch it and the igniter glows and the flame comes on, but the machine stops. I initially thought it was the flame sensor, or maybe a gas value coil, but the machine only runs for 15 seconds even on the air fluff setting. I am suspecting the control board is bad.. Would you agree? Is there a way to test the control board to confirm?
Answer Hello Scott. Yes, based on the information you provided, it does sound like the control board is bad. You can test for power to the motor from the board. If it stops, the board is bad. Also, you may want to check the cancel button on the unit to see if it is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
