Alex for Model Number LGR8648LW0 Dryer heats up for about 4 minutes then continues tumbling without heating up. When it is stopped for 15 or so minutes, it will fire up again. Vent is clear. Once the flames go out, it glows for a few seconds at least once a minute, but does not re-fire. I replaced the coils about a year ago, can they have gone bad? Is it consistent with my problem if the timer works on a timed dry, but does not rotate once it's set in the Auto dry? Even if the clothes are dry? When the dryer first showed signs of a problem it was re-firing up, but less often then it should so clothes were taking longer to dry, once in a while we'd smell a little gas (vents in to basement)but not getting that now The last problem (last year) when coils went, the dryer was periodically making a clicking sound, now that isn't present
Answer Hello Alex. It sounds like the coils are bad and will need to be replaced. You will need to check your vent first and make sure it is not kinked or clogged. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, April 4, 2011
