Clinton M. for Model Number 110-76932691 kenmore gas dryer Have a kenmore gas dryer (whirlpool) 110-76932691, S/N MG1601207 that the gas flame will only stay on 10-15 seconds when the cycle first starts. Then it will not stay on after that. Have new thermal fuse(no. WP3390719) and duct is not kinked and appears clean and has good air flow discharge.Have both new gas valve coils(WPL 279834 kit-AP3094251). Are these the correct coils(order no.1798273) since there was some debate at your office as to whether these are the right coils since there was no cross reference for this model dryer? The glow ignitor glows brightly. I do not know about the thermostats, flame sensor or gas valve but they seem to work since the gas ignites in the beginning. When the gas flame starts and shuts off there a few clicking sounds so the valve must be working. Is the flame sensor a seperate thermal couple and how do you replace it if it is needed? What do you suggest I try now and what part no. and it's cost as I do not want to spend a fortune on this 14 yr. old dryer?
Answer Hello Clinton! It seems that the secondary coil has gone out. You will need to replace both coils, per the manufacture. The correct part number is 279834. Thanks. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, April 15, 2011
