Ed for Model Number LGR7648KQ0 Hello My gas dryer works okay except when it starts it will heat for a few minutes and then the heat goes away. I measured for continuity across the flame sensor and it was good, the chime on the multimeter sounds.. The continuity between the top and bottom connectors of the thermostat was good. The resistance between the two middle connectors was about 1.826 ohms. Then I heated the back of the therostat up with a hot air gun and the resistance of the top and bottom connectors went to infinite or the chime quit. This sounds normal for both items.Could the flame sensor be intermittent? Is there only one thermostat? I guess that leaves the igniter but it would seem hard to test it.
Answer Ed, This issue would most likely be caused by bad coils on the gas valve. The coils will allow gas flow but once they heat up they open and cause the gas flow to stop. You can let it cool down for a while and they will come back. This is a sign of weak coils 279834. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, July 3, 2013
