Kaashif V. Hello, I just got an ice-maker kit with the water valve and hoses. I connected everything as per instructions and when I went to test the unit by moving the arm down to fill the water, there was no action from the valve. I took everything out of the refrigerator and hooked it up outside in a makeshift circuit with direct 120v power and the valve is activated by the control arm moving up and down. I measured the voltage at the valve connector and it reads 14v regardless of the switch position on the ice-maker unit. My question would be what would be the problem here? Thanks
Answer Hello Kaashif, There is no problem with the icemaker or the water inlet valve. The icemaker will not send 120Vac to the water inlet valve until the thermostat in the icemaker has been satisfied. This means that the icemaker will have to be in the freezer compartment until it reaches about 20°F. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 8, 2014
