Answer Hello Don, If you are getting hollow cubes you most likely have a bad water valve. Think of it like this, if the icemaker doesn't fill completely, the temperature sensor that normally monitors the water temperature of the very last cube actually monitors the ambient air temperature inside the freezer compartment. The icemaker has to fill completely to allow the full freezing time required to freeze the ice completely and prevent hollow ice cubes. It will cycle when the cycling thermostat reaches about 20°F.
