Walter for Model Number KSSS48QKB00 Ordered this Icemaker because it looked identical to the one on our Kitchen Aid. I had to take the old icemaker out because the heater on the tray would not turn off, and this was causing the freezers temperature to rise. On installation of the new icemaker came to find that the old wire harness is hard wired into the back of the freezer, and that the sensor on the old wire harness is in a different position than the clip on the new icemaker. Is there a different part I need or is it the case I need a technician to come out and look at it?
Answer Walter, the easiest remedy at this point, use the original wire harness, Remove the white plastic front cover, turn the icemaker on it's side, so you can access the harness, where it enters the control module. Press in on the white plastic clip, with a small blade screw driver and pull out on the complete harness. Insert the harness and push in until the plastic clip snaps into place, and complete the repair. Thanks, and Good Luck. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, June 29, 2011
Answer Hi Walter. The Ice maker needed for your model # is part # 4317943. The 3 wiring harness included inyour new kit should fit by simply pulling the molded end of the origional harness from the side of the inner cabinet. The "sensor" you asked about is a black molded fuse. Then find out which new harness will fit into the freezer wall by looking at your old plug and count the number of pin connections your cabinet has. You can try to use your existing harness if all else fails, but make sure the line fuse (black molded fuse) ohms closed. I hope this helps, let us know if we can help further. Thank-you. Read More...
