Michael for Model Number ED25TQXFW01

Hello, Please help! I ordered this part, The first unit did not work and a second one was sent. It also does not work. The temp is 0 deg. f. and the water flow valve functions. What else? I checked the valve separately both sides of valve work fine. I did not use an Ohm Meter, The harness to the ice maker has 4 wires. 1 Pos 1 neutral 1 ground and 1 that runs to the water valve. I ran power from pos. to the valve using a jumper wire and water flowed freely to ice maker. ice maker was out and I jumped the harness in freezer. The ice maker seems to cycle but is not turning valve on. What else could be the problem?

Answer

Michael, You will want to verify that the icemaker is cycling and also verify that there is 120 vac coming from the icemaker to the valve. Using a multimeter, test from N to V on the icemaker motor for 120 vac If there is 120 vac then test at the water valve for 120 vac. If there is 120 vac at this point the valve is faulty. If the icemaker is not getting 120 vac between the N and V at about the 11:30 position of the fingers then there is an issue with the icemaker. If the icemaker is not cycling then you will want to test the fuse that is on the harness for continuity. If no continuity then the fuse is bad.
