Kthy for Model Number ed0gtxkq00 My ice maker began to leak water into the bucket creating an ice berg. My hubby's solution was to just grind the chunks up into the feed to glasses. Now the bottom has come out of the bucket. Do I need to order anything [water related] other than the Whirlpool icemaker kit? I am planning to replace it myself.
Answer Hello Kthy, You will need to check the water pressure to the water valve behind the unit. If it is too low the valve will not close properly and cause the complaint you listed. If the water pressure is about 40 PSI or higher, the water valve is suspect and should be replaced. I would order part number 1129316 for the model you listed. Read More...
