Tqammy for Model Number ed25dq Our Whirlpool refrigerator icemaker has been having thin black stuff coming off. Then big peice came off, like seal. Now water doesnt fill tray but is freezing as a big block where water inlet is.
Answer Tqammy, The ice freezing at the fill cup would be caused possibly by either the water filter needing to be changed and causing the water pressure to be too low and causing it to freeze up or by low water pressure to the unit. The black stuff coming off in the ice would be caused by particles of the icemaker model deteriorating.
