Sam Spade for Model Number ED25RQXXW00 Just installed replacement icemaker part number 4317943 and ice cubes are just the outside shell - not solid. Exactly where on the unit is the adjustment to increase water to the unit. I have removed cover and do not see anything that appears to have a plus/minus adjustment screw. Is it marked?
Answer Sam, You normally wouldn't need to adjust the water level in a new ice maker, they are preset and tested at the factory. Hollow ice cubes are usually due to low water pressure/supply to the refrigerator. We would recommend you check the water supply, and the fill valve on the refrigerator before you adjust the ice maker. To adjust the water level, you'll need to remove the white plastic front cover. On the right side of the ice maker control module/front, about half way down from the top you'll see a small white plastic adjustment screw with a slot molded across the top, use a small flat blade screwdriver and turn the adjustment screw clock wise to decrease the water level and counter clock wise to increase the water level. The number of revolutions of the adjustment screw is limited to three, if you adjust the screw three revolutions and there is little or no change in the cube size or condition, you'll need to search elsewhere for the problem, and readjust the water level back to the original setting.
