Linda for Model Number BR22VL The icemaker in my Amana bottom freezer stopped ejecting the ice. There is ice in the maker, but it hasn't ejected in days. It has been working fine up until this point. My 9 year old son filled a cooler with ice two days ago and that was the last ice we have had. I don't see how to maneuver the icemaker to troubleshoot what the problem is. Any ideas?
Answer Linda, First thing, check the freezer door light switch for operation. The power to the ice maker is supplied through the switch, a bad switch or wire would keep the ice maker from working. To remove the ice maker, there are two(2) phillips head screws that hold the ice maker to the side wall, loosen but you do not need to remove the screws. Raise the ice maker up until the slots in the mounting plate clear the screws, remove the icemaker and unplug the wire harness from the connector in the back wall, and remove the ice maker. Check the bottom of the ice maker mold, make sure the heater assembly is not damaged or broken. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, July 21, 2011
