George for Model Number JFC2089HES, REF-BTM FRENCH DOOR

Jenn-Air Fridge... Frozen ice mass is forming in bottom of Ice Bucket making cubes hard to remove. Removal of Rear Panel also reveals large collection of ice in upper RH corner above Evaporator Coil which is also iced-over. There is some thought that the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) #12656019 may be at fault in that it may not be sending proper defrost signal to the Evaporator Coil. May be that the PCB is the culprit rather than the Ice Cube Maker. What's your take on this situation before I order the wrong part?

Answer

George, If the ice is near the water fill tube then it would not be a issue of the control board causing this. This would most likely be a frozen fill cup on the icemaker and froze fill tube causing backup and the ice to overflow. This would be more likely an issue of the water valve seeping. If the valve is seeping it will cause water to trickle into fill cup and cause it to flash freeze. This will in turn cause the water to start flowing into the ice bin and the icemaker will not get proper water and will cycle more frequently and cause the effects to intensify.
