Diane for Model Number KSSS36QDX02 I am trying to replace my ice maker. I have a new unit that did not come with a new wiring harness. Also, my existing harness doesn't look like any of the ones that I see offered. The freezer side of my harness goes into a flat round plastic part that does not want to come loose from the semi-rigid plastic airflow panel. It's possible that the harness is still good, but the thermal fuse on my harness is not in the correct position to fit into the metal clip on the ice maker. It's off by about an inch. Can the clip be moved on the ice maker? It doesn't seem to want to slide, but I am reluctant to force it.
Answer Hello Diane, You can move the clip if you are careful not to damage the heater tube. You should be able to pull it straight out with a pair of pliers and tap it back in the slot in the correct position for the fusible link to be held in place. Read More...
