Jeff for Model Number ED5FHEXNB01

The original ice maker had a broken tab on the module. Past experience has shown me that it's easier to replace the entire mechanism. Upon replacing the ice maker I discovered that there is no power to through the harness. This particular model has the harness coming out of the wall with no connection except where it hooks up to the ice maker. I even tried to jump the t and h connections on the new ice maker to no avail. Where does the power come from and how do I fix it?

Answer

Jeff, There is a fuse on the harness and you will want to test to see if the fuse has continuity and if it does not then the fuse would need replaced in which it would need to be cut and spliced into the harness. The icemaker should have come with a harness that would have a fuse on it.
