John Ashbrook for Model Number Maytag MTB 2448 DRW My icemaker drips a small amount of brown sediment into the ice during defrost. Looks like it's coming from the end of the U-shaped water supply tube. Ice making production is normal and there is no other leakage. How can I stop this?
Answer John, The issue is not in the refrigerator. All the water carrying components are either Brass or Plastic, and don't usually rust. Any brown sediment or particles would be atributable to the water supply and plumbing, you may want to install an inline filter assembly 19950155 . As you mentioned the discoloration seems to be from the fill tube, so I would not suspect the ice maker mold, to be an issue at this point . Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
