Michael C. for Model Number Kenmore model 106, side by side I removed the ice maker and found a stuck ice cube which was causing a malfunction. In trying to reinstall it, I do not know which way the two small silver brackets that are attached to the freezer wall go.
Answer Hi Michael/ The 2- ice maker side tabs are used to first clip the ice maker onto the side wall brackets or screws. Did you remove screws at the side / top of the ice maker ? If there are any screw bosses on the side of the cabinet, only use 1/2 " screws to remount the ice maker . The bottom Fwd lower metal bracket on the ice maker is bolted to the side of the cabinet.
