Dennis V. for Model Number Amana TX21VL The icemaker works fine but water from the auger overfills and causes freeze up in the bottom of the tray and also a large icicle in the front of the tray. The fill valve was replaced about a year ago due to lack of ice production, which was successful. If flow adjustment is the problem, how do I get the cover off?
Answer Hi Dominic. Pry open the cover with a small blade screwdriver. Then you can see the small 3/8 " hole in the upper rt. corner. Inside this hole is a brass plate with a hole punched out in the center of it. This hole is centered from the factory so you get a avg. fill. Then you look to the immediate rt. and you will see the white screw head that adjust this fill adjustment. You only move this approx 1/2 turn either way from center. This will take the "black center hole" Lt. or Rt. Remember that Lt of cntr. water lets in. Then Rt. of center the water restricts. Ice maker part # D7824706Q. Thank You. Read More...
