Fdc for Model Number Refrigerator Model# MFF2557HEW I have a Maytag refrigerator (Model: MFF2557HEW) that's about 8 years old and the ice maker stopped working so I put a jumper wire in the "L" & "V" holes and it still did not call for water. Next, I tried jumping the "H" & "T" holes but still no luck so I purchased and installed a new water valve and it still does not call for water. Is this confirmation that the ice unit is "KAPUT" and I need a new one or what else can I do to test the unit? Note: all lines are free of ice! Please advise...Thanks
Answer Hello FDC. Test for power to the water valve when the icemaker 4317943 is jumped. If there is no power to the water valve, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
