Hello Susan, The trick is a little screwdriver. Use it to remove the white plastic cover on the front of the icemaker and you will see a clearish white plastic tab on the side where the harness goes into the icemaker. Depress the tab with the little screwdriver and pull and the harness will slide right out. As for the bale arm, use the small screwdriver to pry it away from the back of the control module and it will pop right out. To install it in the new one simply push it in until it bottoms in the hole. If the back end goes through the plastic, put it in the plastic part first.
