Jessie for Model Number Northland GS48XDI, Ice Maker #106626648 The icemaker on my Northland fridge is producing very little ice. It fills, freezes and then takes a very long time (12-24 hours) to eject one set of ice. It has done this before at times for a few days up to a few weeks. It then returns to normal for several months up to a year, and then repeats the problem. Do you know what is wrong?
Answer Jessie, Several reasons why an ice maker operates intermittently, The most common issue now a days is the unit is attached to a reverse osmosis filter sytem, the pressure fluctuation creates fill issues and water pressure issues in the water system. Check and make sure the doors are closing and sealing properly, and that the freezer compartment is not "Over Loaded" and the air circulation is not being restricted. You want an average freezer temperature of 3 to 5 dgrs. F. to mintain the food products and the ice maker to produce properly. Thanks and good Luck Read More...
