W.W. for Model Number MBB2256GEB Is there an exploded view of the ice maker? Reason being im not sure how the front cover just pops off. Is there a screw holding it on? Do I have to shut the water supply off before removing the unit? Is the water valve internal? Please help! Thanks, W.W.
Answer Hello W.W., If you use a small screwdriver, there are two small slots at the bottom of the front cover. Insert the screwdriver into a slot and yank it towards you, being careful not to hit yourself if it comes off unexpectedly. The cover will pop off. If it doesn't pop all the way off, you may need to go around the cover and pull in different spots to bring it off more evenly. There are no screws holding it on. The water valve is not in the icemaker assembly. It is recommended to remove the unit from the power supply, but the water supply is not energized unless the icemaker is in a cycle, and this is not possible with the power disconnected. In other words, no, the water supply does not need to be disconnected or turned off to service the icemaker assembly. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, June 11, 2012
